There are many opportunities every month to go on walks that have a leader and are planned by organizations. Organized walks are a great way to get outdoors and take a walk when you:
- are just getting started and learning about taking walks outdoors in natural areas;
- want to explore or learn about a new trail;
- want to walk with and meet other people who like to go walking;
- enjoy the social aspect of walking with a group; or
- are concerned about getting lost or your safety.
Several Rhode Island land trusts and other organizations regularly schedule walks that they lead. You can join a group for one of these walks or become a member of a group that regularly goes out walking.
